A project to develop a new children's play park by: Penny Ridler

Podsmead Big Local (PBL), in consultation with local residents, is working in partnership with Gloucester City Council to develop a children’s play area on the Tuffley Park open space, close to Laburnum Road and Podsmead Place.

PBL became aware of a local resident who was petitioning for a play space for local young children and had collected in excess of 60 signatures, which showed a substantial number of local people in favour of developing plans.

Following on from this, an initial residents’ questionnaire was circulated to local residents by PBL and over 80% of those who responded were in favour of the proposal.

PBL has been working closely with Gloucester City Council to take the idea forward. The cost of the proposed play park would be covered by PBL with the Council retaining ownership and providing ongoing care and maintenance.
